My tastebuds seem to have gotten more sensitive.  My body is reacting to my food consumption.  I don't feel good when I drink soda or eat heavily.. I have made some serious adjustments.  Soda is out and my daily drink is water with lemon, lime, and mint.  Refreshing, and I don't feel awful after I drink it.  I feel better about myself too.  Making adjustments to my portion size, not easy task when I make something yummy!

April 7

Time is flying quickly!  A burst of new blood is pumping through the veins of the varsity team.  Excitement for a new season is undeterred by the disappointment of defeat.
A well organized tailgate always satisfies the weary warrior!
So many seasons, years of high school sports, hopefully this all ends in beautiful sunshine!
This was another cloudless day with a strong, but not too chilly breeze.

Precious Jewelry

Brian always is thoughtful to purchase a gift for me when he is away.  It is the most touching gesture.  The first time he spent time away from home for a summer camp, he complained he did not have enough spending money over the phone.

When I picked him up on his last day of summer camp, he presented me with a small souvenir gift.  With the last of his money, he still managed to purchase a gift for me.  On his trip Down Under, he influenced his brother, Eric to purchase a gift as well.  He is my thinker, my thoughtful thinker.

It was a beautiful day for a lacrosse game.  Still chilly but nice.  The last season for our family.  The last of team dinners, the last of team breakfasts, the last of bleacher conversation....

Breeze is blowing and the sky is cloudless.  Actually, it's a perfect day for sailing! 2 hours of mowing...another hour of trimming...pretty much done in..Can't wait for dinner!
Can't wait to sell this house so I won't have to mow the lawn anymore!

APRIL 3RD Another Banal day

Back from dentist office and cracked the book!  Have to finish before I rent the movie (per my girlfriend, Eileen).
Tackling paperwork so I can start some housework...wow..exciting!
Lost the family pool, hubby ended his winning streak, lost to the baby!
Had OSU going all the way!  Kansas dashed my hopes for championship...hubby had Kansas and rubbed in his winning.  I could have punched him in the face when we got to bed.
But he lost the championship game, ending his 2 year winning streak.
He's so competitive.
Beautiful day today!  Gorgeous outside!  Tractor mower needs to be repaired.  The grass is high!
(I am sure the neighbors are also wondering what is going on with our yard.)

And Aerosmith is going on tour???  Hope they bring lotsa back up!
Another note on aging, so happy the self driving car will be up in running in my lifetime!  I can visit my grandkids anytime I want!  hahaha!  I will be able to get to the doctor without relying on someone else's time to take me where I need to go!

Love technology!  Stay creative young un's!  Your are only helping your future selves!

April 2nd Banality

Work day!  Monday, April 2nd!
Good morning!  It's a beautiful day and my windows need a terrible washing!  Need to put it on the to do list of the 2nd day of my banal life!  And, clearly...I hate to file.  Look at this desk!  Disgusting!  I want to photograph my office, but obviously it is not set up for a photo shoot.  But that is part of my banal life.
Last night, saw the movie Hunger Games with my loveliest of lady friends, Teresa and Eileen.  Sangria and tapas at Macaroni Grill.  Conversation around the banality of sex life, kids and their future.
See, it was a good evening!

April 1st the start of a Banal Life of the Empty Nester

Only 61 days until the very last day of high school for my baby's senior year.  But who is counting?  What will my days be like without having to plan the rest of my life around school calendars, sport schedules, family outings?
Banal?  Trivial?  Empty?  Fulfilling?  Relief?  Grief?
One must be truly blessed with the banality of an ordinary life.  I will cherish every day of no drama, no emergency to attend to, health problem to address, I want an ordinary and terribly banal life.  The less I have to worry about the better.
Of course, I will still worry about the boys.  I will worry about their lives, their future, their relationships, but it's under their control, it's out of my  hands now.  I helped guide them down a path, it's their decision to continue down whatever road I pointed out for them or choose their own.  And it will be their decision.
So what do I do?  Look forward to my ordinary life, I hope.
Today, April 1st, we bought a 1996 truck.  Good cruise around town 4X4 for this East coast life we chose.  An extra vehicle for the kids to drive when they come home for breaks and holidays from college.
Day one of the banal life!
